Obituary of Roger James Bernard

BERNARD, Roger James – It is with deep sadness that the family of Roger Bernard, 54, announce his passing. Roger passed away on November 4 in the Mira Nursing Home in Truro, Nova Scotia. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late John Moses Bernard and Annie Mae (Cremo) Bernard. Roger shared many good times playing bingo with friends. He had great joy and love of his children and grandchildren. Roger leaves behind his lifelong companion, Pauline Paul, and his children, Anthony Paul, stepson, Robert Paul, Jessica Paul and Katrina Paul.Roger will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Bailey, Lily, Karen, and Bentley. Roger also leaves behind his godchildren, Marlene Francis, Levi Toney, and Myles Knockwood; and many nieces and nephews; brother, David; sisters, Darlene and Elizabeth. Roger was predeceased by his sister, Gloria Francis, and brothers, Gordon, Roddie and John. Visitation hours will be 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday, 2-4 and 7-9pm Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9pm Sunday, in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. A funeral mass will be held 11am Monday, November 9, in St Kateri's Church, Indian Brook, Father Tom Kurudeepan, OMI officiating. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery, Salite to follow.
