Obituary of Victor Edmund O'Grady

O’GRADY, Victor Edmund – age 86, of Enfield, passed away peacefully in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, on August 18, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Charles and Maud (Anderson) O’Grady. He worked at Maritime Paper Products for several years before moving to Enfield Hardware where he worked for nearly 30 years. Victor enjoyed car racing very much and would travel to see the races. He was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He is survived by his companion, Evelyn Shand; his children, Danny (Donna), Shelburne; Sean (Brenda), Lantz; Denise Bellefontaine, Middle Musquodoboit; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; stepsons, Brian Shand, Prince Albert, Sask; and Bruce Shand, Nanaimo, BC; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Don and Marion White. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Ettinger Funeral Home, Shubenacadie. No visitation by Victor’s request. A funeral mass will be held 10am Saturday, August 22, 2015, in St. Bernard’s Church, Enfield, Father Michael Walsh officiating. Interment at a later date. No flowers by request.
