Obituary of Rosina Ashley

Please share a memory of Rosina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
ASHLEY, Rosina age 91, Enfield, passed away on June 29, 2015 in the Abbie Lane, QEII Hospital, Halifax. We could not have asked for a better departure from this earth for our Mum. She was born in London, England to the late Frank and Rosina (Lovell) Lewinton. Rosina came to Canada as a war bride arriving at Pier 21 aboard The Athalone Castle. Mum and Dad had such a loving marriage cut all too short with Dad’s passing. Rosina worked as a receptionist at the Elmsdale Medical Centre for 21 years. She was a true lioness protecting and caring for her daughters and all she loved. She was completely devoted to her family. Her greatest joy was having all the family together. We had so many good times and much laughter. Her time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren was so cherished - never enough time. Rosina is survived by her daughters, Penny (Wayne), Christine (Robin), Rozelle (Stephen); grandchildren, Leslie (Darcy), Mark and Ethan; great grandchildren Ty and Tristan. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lester; brothers, Ted, Will and Frank, all of England. We would like to thank Drs. Rosie Kepkey and Katalin Koller and all the wonderful staff on the 9th floor at Abbie Lane. A special mention to nurses Annie Mae Martin and Katrina. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Ettinger Funeral Home. Visitation 1pm until time of service at 2pm Saturday, July 4 all in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, Rev. Canon David Fletcher officiating with Rev. Patty Mckenna assisting. Private family interment. Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Rosina may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
