MACPHEE, Harold Donald- age 78, of Shubenacadie, NS passed away peacefully in Queens Manor Nursing Home in Liverpool, after a short period of illness. Harold was born September 20th, 1936 to Walter and Anna MacPhee. After graduation from East Hants Rural High School, he studied forestry at the University of New Brunswick. He was employed by the Department of Lands and Forests in Lunenburg County and it was there he met Margaret Knickle. They married in 1960 and together they had two children, Marina and Mark. Harold worked for the Lands and Forests and Natural Resources for 37 years and retired in 1992. Harold enjoyed the outdoors, curling, camping, travel, reading, music and gardening. He is survived by his common law wife of 30 years, Loretta Davison; his daughter, Marina (Sandy) Edgar; his son, Mark (Valerie Greek) MacPhee; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Janet, Robert and David Edgar. He is also survived by two uncles, Gerald (Wilma) MacPhee and Billy (Muriel) MacPhee; cousin, Winston (Pat) MacPhee, among many others. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26 from 2 to 4pm in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie, NS. A graveside funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 28 at 2pm at Brookside Cemetery, Mill Village, Rev. Lloyd Ripley officiating. Family flowers only.
