MacDonald (Singer), Dorothy Mae, South Maitland-passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at her home, Glencoe, in South Maitland, Hants County. She was a daughter of the late Currie and Florence (Nelson) Singer of Shubenacadie. Dorothy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and home maker. She was well known for her cooking, baking and her sumptuous dinner parties. She was a member of South Maitland United Church and the South Maitland Willing Workers. She greatly enjoyed baking and serving at church and community dinners. Mother loved to garden and her pride and joy were her many flower gardens and floral arrangements. She loved the arrival of the early spring flowers. Dorothy is survived by her children, Keith Douglas, Edmonton; Lesley-Anne, South Maitland/Truro; and her grandchildren, Caroline and Connor, Edmonton. She is also survived by her siblings, Keith (Betty), New Glasgow; Vernon (Shirley), Lower Sackville; Clarence, Stewiacke; Margaret Ellis, New Glasgow; Sheila Mills, Bedford; many nieces and nephews, and great nephews and great nieces. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Keith Wendell and son, Gary Lee; siblings, Wilfred, Lawrence, Orie, Helen, Lena, Frances, Shirley. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 6 at 2pm in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Everyone is encouraged to wear bright colours to celebrate spring.
