MARR, Francis Isaac “Ikey” – Age 53, Indian Brook. It is with great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Francis Isaac “Ikey” Marr. He passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2015 at his home in Indian Brook. Francis and his twin sister Mary Marr were born on February 26, 1962 in Pembroke, Ontario to the late Francis Marr Sr. and Matilda (Paul) Benoit. Francis enjoyed spending time with his children, loved watching hockey and his favorite NHL Team the Boston Bruins, his children continue the passion for Boston Bruins (his favorite player was Bobby Orr) and collecting hockey cards. He also played monopoly games with his children, enjoyed a good game of dice, cards, fishing, etc. He worked as a floor installer and as a seasonal worker. He is survived by his children Peter James Syliboy, Belinda Syliboy, Jeremy Syliboy, Kirby Marr (Alicia Paul), all of Indian Brook; Kayla Marr Halifax, Macey Marr (Stephen Toney), Indian Brook; his wife Bernadette Syliboy-Marr, Indian Brook; brother Blair M. Marr (Vannesa Richard), Halifax; sisters Mary Marr, Ottawa, Cecile Marr,, Indian Brook, Mary Agnes Casey (Bob), Eskasoni, Cape Breton; Carol Williams (David), Debbie Paul, both of Indian Brook; Lorraine Clair, PEI; Michelle (Marr), Lowdermilk, Alberta; grandchildren Mackenzie, Dashawn, Hosanna, Kobie Lynn, Annabella and an unborn baby girl Kaylee-Ann Marr; godchildren Jolene Marr, Jerry Augustine, Tashina Williams, Jenna (Marr) Clattenburg many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Francis was predeceased by his parents, also step father Louis “Papa Louie” Benoit, sister Margret “Maggie” Paul, paternal grandparents John and Cecile Marr, maternal grandparents George and Margaret Paul, also his beloved uncle Roland Marr. Visitation will take place 3pm Tuesday March 24, at 84 Sesame Street until time of service at 2pm, Thursday March 26 in St. Kateri Roman Catholic Church, Indian Brook, Father Tom Kurudeepan OMI, officiating. Spring interment at 11am May 19, 2015 at the Community Cemetery, Indian Brook. A Salite will be held following the service at the Community Centre.
